New updates and improvements to DonorCARE ๐ŸŽ‰

  1. Ask your own data questions, and let donors help themselves

August's biggest change is an AI assistant that actually knows your organization's data โ€” alongside donor self-service, a bookkeeping export, and a heads-up on an upcoming LHDN deadline.

    ๐ŸŒŸ Major updates

๐Ÿงพ A heads-up before LHDN tightens its field limits

Donor tax-ID, passport, and address fields are now checked against the character-length limits LHDN's MyInvois system will start enforcing on 23 October 2026. If your organization issues e-invoices, you'll now catch an over-length field on your own screen before you submit โ€” not after LHDN rejects it.

๐Ÿค Donors can now manage their own giving from their receipt page

A donor's receipt page is now the hub for their own giving: they can review and correct the names on offering entries they submitted themselves, and reach their donation history and profile from the same place โ€” without you needing to set up a separate account portal for them.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Ask an AI assistant about your own campaigns and donations

A new AI Copilot lives inside the admin dashboard and answers questions about your own campaigns, donations, and compliance status in plain language, proposes common actions like scheduling a campaign, and surfaces early warnings and comparisons against similar organizations. It has usage limits and may be gated to certain plans โ€” but it's live now, not a preview.

    ๐Ÿงฉ Smaller improvements

    • ๐Ÿ”— Donations can now be exported as a ready-to-import package for SQL Account (SQLAcc), including the bank reference as the cheque number, so your bookkeeper doesn't have to re-key transactions.
    • ๐ŸŒ Directory listings are now structured so search engines can index and rank them properly, alongside changes aimed at turning directory visitors into donors.

Thank you for trusting DonorCARE with this work. If the AI Copilot gets something wrong, or anything above doesn't match what you see, tell us here โ€” we read every comment.

  2. Your most engaged donors, and finer control over your team

July's changes are mostly about visibility and control: seeing which donors are genuinely engaged, and deciding precisely who on your team can touch what.

    ๐ŸŒŸ Major updates

๐Ÿค Know which donors are actually engaged

DonorCARE now scores every donor automatically, based on how often and how recently they've given, with a trend indicator (getting more or less engaged) and the reasons behind the score. Instead of guessing who your most loyal supporters are โ€” or noticing a lapsed donor by accident months later โ€” you can now see it directly on their profile. Useful the next time you're planning a thank-you call or deciding who to reach out to first.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Grant each role exactly the access it needs

Every major admin area โ€” donations, receipts, tablets, financial reports, your website, email campaigns, and more โ€” now has its own enforceable permission, set from a single permission matrix screen. Where admin access used to be coarser, you can now, for example, give a bookkeeper the financial reports and receipts without also handing them the donor list or website.

๐ŸŒ A better front door in the public NPO Directory

The public NPO Directory got a visual overhaul with image-forward listing cards and "most viewed" / "most raised" sorting. The real change for you: a review queue, so an edit someone suggests to your organization's listing needs your approval before it goes live, instead of changing without your say-so.

    ๐Ÿงฉ Smaller improvements

    • ๐Ÿ”— Campaigns can now link a FormCARE form, so donors fill in extra details โ€” like event registration questions โ€” as part of giving.
    • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ New organizations can explore DonorCARE with sample campaigns and donations pre-loaded, and clear that sample data with one click when going live.
    • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Organizations that also use other CARE-family products, like JomCARE, can now sign in once and switch between them without logging in again.

Thank you for the campaigns you're running on DonorCARE. If anything above doesn't work quite the way you expected, tell us here โ€” we read every comment.

  3. Recurring donations, an in-house receipt editor, and cleaner donor records

June's biggest change is recurring giving: donors can now set up a monthly donation with retries and self-service built in. Alongside it, receipt templates moved fully in-house, and duplicate donor records got a proper find-and-merge tool โ€” plus smaller improvements to how you reach and understand your donors.

    ๐ŸŒŸ Major updates

๐Ÿงพ Edit your receipt template inside DonorCARE, with a live preview

Receipt templates can now be edited directly inside DonorCARE, with a live preview as you type โ€” including inserting variables like the donor's name or the amount with a click โ€” instead of round-tripping through an external tool every time you want to change how a receipt looks.

๐Ÿค Find and merge duplicate donor records, and catch new ones automatically

Building on the first version shipped in April, you can now review likely-duplicate donor profiles side by side, choose which field wins per record, and merge them โ€” and a new Triage page flags a duplicate as soon as it's created, instead of leaving it for someone to notice later.

๐Ÿ’ณ Donors can now set up recurring monthly giving

Donors can now set up a recurring monthly donation instead of giving once and having to remember to come back. A failed card charge retries automatically, donors get an email update about their subscription โ€” including a warning before their card expires โ€” and they can pause, resume, or cancel it themselves from a self-service page, without going through your organization.

    ๐Ÿงฉ Smaller improvements

    • ๐Ÿ“Š A new admin landing view ranks your organization's most important open items โ€” compliance gaps, at-risk recurring donors, and similar signals โ€” into one prioritized feed instead of several separate reports to check.
    • ๐Ÿค Donor recognition tiers (bronze/silver/gold-style giving levels) are now configured per organization instead of one shared set, so you can define your own ladder, turn recognition on or off, and see how many donors sit in each tier.
    • ๐Ÿ“ง Each campaign can now send its own thank-you email instead of one generic template, the email editor got a redesign with a live preview, and donor emails come from a branded "donate@" address by default with your organization's own reply-to.
    • ๐Ÿ’ณ A new Triage view collects donations with unresolved issues โ€” like a payment that hasn't settled, or a name missing from an offering entry โ€” into one worklist with a count badge, instead of leaving staff to spot them in the main donations table.
    • ๐Ÿค A first-time donor messaging DonorCARE's WhatsApp bot can now claim a donation they made in the past by verifying their phone number, linking it to their own donor profile instead of it sitting unattributed.
    • ๐ŸŒ DonorCARE now publishes case studies of organizations using the platform on a public success-stories section, with a featured strip on the homepage โ€” this is about DonorCARE's own site, not your organization's pages.

Thank you for the recurring gifts and duplicate records you're untangling on DonorCARE. If anything above doesn't match what you see, tell us here โ€” we read every comment.

  4. Receipt numbers per organization, and logos for light and dark mode

May was a quieter month, with one change worth knowing about: how your receipt numbers and logos work.

    ๐Ÿงฉ Smaller improvements

    • ๐Ÿงพ Receipt sequence numbers are now scoped to each organization, and you can upload separate logos for light and dark mode โ€” used consistently across the admin dashboard, website builder, and receipts.

Thank you for your patience while this shipped as a smaller update. If it doesn't match what you see, tell us here โ€” we read every comment.

  5. A multi-campaign checkout, a rebuilt tablet editor, and a public NPO Directory

April's changes cut across giving, ceremonies, and how organizations get found: donors can now combine campaigns in one checkout, ceremony tablets get a more precise editor, and a public NPO Directory launched with a claimable listing for your organization.

    ๐ŸŒŸ Major updates

๐Ÿ’ณ Donors can now give to several campaigns in one checkout

A donor can add offerings from more than one of your campaigns into a single cart and pay for all of them together, instead of checking out separately for each one. A guest cart also works without the donor needing to log in first โ€” useful for someone giving quickly from a shared link.

๐Ÿฎ A more precise editor for ceremony tablets

The tool for designing name tablets used in memorial and blessing ceremonies was rebuilt around a zone-based editor, so you can lay out where each name and line goes and generate print-ready tablet batches more precisely than before.

๐ŸŒ A public NPO Directory, with a claimable listing for your organization

DonorCARE launched a public, searchable directory of Malaysian NPOs, browsable by category and state. Your organization's listing is claimable, so you can verify it and take ownership rather than leaving it to sit unmanaged โ€” and it's built to be found, with a sitemap, structured data, and links back from your own organization pages.

    ๐Ÿงฉ Smaller improvements

    • ๐Ÿ“Š Bulk data exports can now be requested as a background job from a dedicated Export Center and downloaded once ready, instead of being limited to what loads instantly on screen.
    • ๐ŸŒ You can now maintain your own bilingual FAQ list and edit your legal/policy page content directly, instead of relying on fixed boilerplate text.
    • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ New organizations can start on a time-limited free trial of paid features, with a countdown banner and an automatic prompt to upgrade when they hit a plan limit or the trial is about to expire.

    ๐Ÿ”ง Fixes

    • ๐Ÿ’ณ Anonymous donations are now scoped to each organization individually, fixing an issue where the "anonymous donor" record they were attributed to could get mixed up with another organization's.

Thank you for the ceremonies and campaigns you run on DonorCARE. If anything above doesn't match what you see, tell us here โ€” we read every comment.

  6. Approval workflow for voiding donations, plus reconciliation sign-off

Voiding (cancelling) a donation can now require a second person's approval before it takes effect, and reconciliation work can be formally signed off โ€” giving finance teams a segregation-of-duties control instead of letting any one staff member void or close the books unilaterally.
